I love sushi asked: I’m thinking about adopting one from a local resuce and I just needed some info. Anyother insights into the breed are also appreciated.

Be sure to check hearing and eyesight, as these are common problems in the breed, and often the reason for one going to a shelter.
A Dalmation will need three long walks per day, if there is no suitable yard.
They are heavy shedders, and require a premium kibble (no corn, soy, wheat, beet pulp) to help with the shedding.. (White hair EVERYWHERE)
You will need a hounds glove..as it really helps with removing dead hair, and the dog thinks you are just petting it.

Dalmatians need (twice)daily walks. If you are getting a pure breed. Keep in mine that they are very very difficult (almost impossible)to train. Also very hyper and easily distracted. They need good food avoid the cheaper stuff.
That being said. I would not give mine up for anything! He is super loyal and lovable.?

From my understanding a dog needs at least one hour of exercise and needs to get out of the house. No, not in your back yard. The dog needs to be outside for a walk. Just split the time to :30 morning and :30 evening. I am sure you can go to web specifically fo dalmatians. good luck

A LOT! Figure two thirty minute runs a day, not just a casual walk around the block.
Some Dals are very sweet, but this is a breed that can be a nightmare for the inexperienced. They can be aggressive and very hard-headed. Often when you’re adopting a dog, you’re adopting the problems that made the people give it away in the first place. They also shed a lot - little white hairs everywhere! If you like this style of dog, I’d suggest getting a Vizsla instead.
Buy and read “What All Good Dogs Should Know” by Jack Volhard. And “Good Owners, Great Dogs” by Brian Kilcommins. And “Training Your Dog: The Step by Step Method” by Volhard. You can get them on Amazon.com. Watch Cesar Millan - The Dog Whisperer if you get the National Geographic Channel. He’s the best trainer I’ve ever seen on tv. He’s also got a book out - “Cesar’s Way”.
