It is still a good idea for it to have AKC papers, otherwise it can be a something mixed with Dalmatian and look like a Dalmatian but act like a Pit Bull. You want to know that the person that bred the dog knew what they were doing and that the puppy isn't deaf. If you buy from a reputable breeder they will stand behind a guarantee on the puppy. You can check the local newspapers for them and also places like puppydogweb.com will list them by state. Some will state that they sell pet quality and they will be lower priced, but it is best if you can go check out the place where the puppy was born and raised. DO NOT buy from a pet store, they are usually puppy mill puppies and they will not guarantee anything with the puppy!

Consider breed rescue, they will likely have one that meets your criteria.

have you tried petfinder.com? Or you could go to your area shelter and look for a dog in need if they don't have one now, I'm sure they would let you leave your info.
