Can a 14 month old dalmatian get new spots?

dalmatian
Junior asked:

A few light spots appeared last week, in a white patch the back.

Are they new spots?
or are they just blemishes?
a tri-color dalmatian with black spots on the back and body, with liver spots on the face and legs.

light spots in the white? If he were getting new spots wouldn;t they be dark>? And I think it is a little old to be developing new spots.

I understand that dalmations begin all white as puppies and the spots fill in as they mature. So it would seem possible that they would get more spots at that age. 14 months is still very young (actually only a teen in human age) so it is still maturing.

My pittie is 1.5 years, and she gets new spots every month or so, still! It’s slowing down, but It may be the same for your guy!
